Each print in the series is titled with reference to my research into different aspects of the current ecological crisis.
The shadows becoming a shrine (2019)
I drew on the visual language of a previous installation I made, called The Weight of the Dead (2017-2018), in which I suspended broken and dry tree roots, trunks and branches and lit them so that the shadows became an integral part of the installation.
It brings the outside in with it (2019)
The master printer and I came up with new ways to cast shadows of trees directly onto the screens used for making the screen prints.
All the spectres of the past (2019)
The resulting prints are a layered combination of actual shadows cast by branches and twigs, manipulated photographs of the installation and its shadows, and elements derived from my drawings of shadows.
